Athleticare Welcomes Aaron Rodriguez as Athletic Trainer, Expanding Support for Student-Athletes

August 25, 2026 Uncategorized

Athleticare Sports Health Foundation is proud to announce the addition of Aaron Rodriguez Zamora, MS, ATC, to its growing team of athletic trainers. Rodriguez brings a strong academic foundation and a passion for athlete-centered care, aligning closely with Athleticare’s mission to expand access to healthcare for student-athletes.

Rodriguez earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science from Illinois College, graduating cum laude. He went on to complete his Master of Science in Athletic Training at McKendree University.

In his new role with Athleticare, Rodriguez will provide comprehensive care to student-athletes, supporting them from the moment of injury through rehabilitation and return to play.

“I chose to become an athletic trainer to be able to provide complete care for athletes from the moment their injury occurs to their return to play,” said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was particularly drawn to Athleticare’s commitment to increasing access to athletic training services in underserved schools.

“What stood out to me about Athleticare’s mission was connecting underserved schools with access to athletic trainers and protecting student-athletes,” he said. “I want to be a resource and an advocate for student-athletes’ health and safety, and being part of a team with that same goal is very important to me.”

In his role, Rodriguez is eager to build meaningful relationships across the Athleticare community.

“I’m most looking forward to making connections with the Athleticare team, student-athletes, and coaches,” he added.

Rodriguez also emphasizes the importance of foundational wellness habits for athletic success. “For long-term success, athletes should prioritize sleep and nutrition above all,” he noted. “Many athletes under-sleep and under-eat, which negatively affects recovery.”

Outside of work, Rodriguez enjoys working out, spending time with friends and family, and engaging in spontaneous activities.

Athleticare looks forward to Aaron joining the team and is excited about the role he will play in expanding access to care and advancing the health and safety of student-athletes.
