Ashley Jenkins

Ashley grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and attended Wichita High School Southeast, where she competed in track and field and cheer — and spent plenty of time in the athletic training room. Raised a Jayhawk, she headed to the University of Kansas planning to double major in journalism and developmental psychology, then switched to athletic training, one of the best decisions she made at KU.

At KU she worked with football, women's rowing, men's and women's cross country and track and field, plus two local high schools. Her preceptors and these experiences shaped an athletic training philosophy centered on manual therapy — if she weren't an athletic trainer, she'd be a massage therapist. She graduated in May 2017 with a B.S. in Athletic Training, earned her Board of Certification credential and accepted a fellowship with Athleticare.

Ashley is now Head Athletic Trainer at University City High School and is pursuing a master's degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Human Movement Science. In her free time she works out, visits coffee shops, takes photos and watches a lot of Netflix and Hulu.
