Athleticare Sports Health Foundation, Inc. invites applicants for our Athletic Training Fellowship program. We currently have positions available in the St. Louis, MO starting immediately and January 2019.
At Athleticare Sports Health Foundation, Inc, we are working to build safer sports programs for everyone by CONNECTING under-served schools with access to sports medicine services, EMPOWERING athletic trainers with opportunities for excellence and growth, PROTECTING student-athletes from injury and SUPPORTING the communities we serve with access to programs, services, and resources to help them build a stronger, safer sporting community. Athleticare Sports Health Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization. The mission of the Athleticare Sports Health Foundation, Inc.'s Fellowship program is to foster the development of athletic trainers working in the secondary school setting through mentoring, clinical rotations with sports medicine providers, and graduate education, with a specific focus on underserved communities.
Athletic Training Fellows will serve as the Head Athletic Trainer at a local high school and work 20 hours per week under the direct supervision of a Team Physician and Athleticare’s Director of Athletic Healthcare Services. Participants will pursue graduate education through Concordia University Chicago's online Master of Science in Applied Exercise Science program. Fellows may choose from programs in sports nutrition, sports performance training, human movement science, fitness and health promotion. The fellowship program is also available to candidates interested in pursuing a doctoral education at Concordia University Chicago's online PhD in Health and Human Performance or EdD in Health and Human Performance programs.
Fellows receive the following compensation package:
- Full tuition and fee waivers
- Free Textbooks and required course materials
- Monthly stipend ($1000-$2500 per month)
- Financial support for continuing education activities
