MacKenzie McInturff LAT, ATC
ODESSA HIGH SCHOOL HEAD ATHLETIC TRAINER
MacKenzie was born and raised in St. Charles, MO. She grew up playing competitive softball, and she always knew she wanted to be around sports when it came to her career choice. She was fascinated with injuries. It wasn’t until her senior year of high school where she decided athletic training was the career path she wanted to take. When shadowing her high school athletic trainer during a wrestling tournament, where she had the opportunity to witness her first dislocated elbow. This was the coolest thing! This was when MacKenzie knew she really wanted to become an athletic trainer. MacKenzie went to Culver-Stockton College on a softball scholarship and was admitted into their athletic training program. Throughout her years at C-SC, she enjoyed working with, both, the soccer and football teams. Observing and playing a hand in her student-athletes progressing throughout the injury return-to-play process was immensely rewarding. This made MacKenzie fall in love with the athletic training profession. MacKenzie graduated early in December of 2017. She, then, accepted a fellowship position with Athleticare Sports Health Foundation and moved to the other side of the state. She is currently near Kansas City, providing athletic training services to the student-athletes at Odessa High School. Athleticare has provided MacKenzie the opportunity to continue to grow as an athletic trainer and gain amazing, first-hand experience within the Odessa community. Go Bulldogs!
