EMILY KARLESKINT
Emily Karleskint is originally from Jackson, MO, a small town just outside of Cape Girardeau in Southeast Missouri. Emily attended Jackson High School where she played softball and was a swimmer. Growing up, Emily’s parents kept her very involved in all things athletic. At the age of 3, she was a competitive skater and her passion to compete grew from there. Coming from an environment such as this, Emily was drawn to find a career in this field of work. She stumbled upon athletic training and started as a freshman at Southeast Missouri State University, where she was accepted into their athletic training program that spring. Here, she was exposed to several different clinical settings and her passion for the field continued to grow. Emily graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in May 2016 and became board certified in June 2016. Emily accepted her first position as a floating athletic trainer, working for a physical therapy company in St. Louis, MO. Emily has experience working with a vast array of athletes ranging from ages five to 23 years, from the high school level to elite level gymnasts. Emily has also worked with U.S Soccer.
In July 2017, Emily joined our team at Athleticare Sports Health Foundation, where she worked with student-athletes at Ladue Horton Watkins High School as an associate athletic trainer. Emily currently works at Principia High School as their athletic trainer/strength and conditioning coach. She is pursuing her M.S. in Applied Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Performance Training.
Emily is a huge hockey fan and enjoys all things hockey. In her free time, you can catch Emily yelling at a TV screen at a local tavern with friends.
