ASHLEY JENKINS
Rock Chalk Jayhawk! Ashley Jenkins is originally from Wichita, KS where she attended Wichita High School Southeast. She spent a lot of time in the athletic training room while participating in track and field and cheer. Born and raised a Jayhawk, Ashley knew that it made sense for her to move up to Lawrence, KS to attend the University of Kansas. While her original plan was to double major in Journalism and Developmental Psychology, she soon came to her senses and changed her major to Athletic Training. It was one of the best decisions she made while at KU. Ashley had the opportunity to work with the KU men’s football, women’s rowing, men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams, as well as two local high schools. Thanks to her former preceptors and the numerous opportunities, Ashley developed her own athletic training philosophy focused around manual therapy. If she was not working as an athletic trainer, Ashley would pursue a career in massage therapy. Upon graduating with her B.S. in Athletic Training in May of 2017, Ashley received her official certification from the Board of Certification and accepted a fellowship position with Athleticare Sports Health Foundation. Ashley is now serving as the Head Athletic Trainer for University City High School and pursuing her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Human Movement Science.
In her spare time Ashley enjoys working out, visiting coffee shops, photography, and watching way too much Netflix and Hulu.
